As a co-owner, Nathan Hilding’s responsibilities include site acquisition, concept development, business licensing, and oversight of Bottleneck’s accounting and marketing departments.
His keen eye for detail and accuracy make him a natural to oversee the accounting side of the business, but his true value comes to light when he steps away from the books and joins Jason Akemann and Chris Bisaillon on the acquisition side of Bottleneck Management. His perspective, insight, and vision are not only proven, but invaluable as Bottleneck Management expands.
Teaming Up
Nathan graduated with a degree in Business Administration from Illinois Wesleyan University. Upon graduation, Nathan took a sales position with Van Kampen American Capital (presently Invesco). It was there that Nathan formed his first business alliance with Chris Bisaillon, teaming with him to cover a sales territory. After a year at Van Kampen, Nathan left the company with the intention of working in the service industry to gain the knowledge he knew was essential for owning and operating restaurants and bars. Having worked various server and bartender positions for a number of years, he was ready to open Trace in 2001 with Jason Akemann.
Outside of Work
In addition to his role with Bottleneck Management, Nathan currently sits on the Board of St. Rita of Cassia High School located on Chicago’s South Side. He has also held board seats on The Chicago Hospitality Association, The West Town Chamber of Commerce, and The Bucktown/Wicker Park Chamber of Commerce. Nathan currently resides in the western suburbs with his wife Jennifer and their three children.
