1. French Cut Chicken Breast
Sweetwater rolls out their new menu on May 6th. Along with various new salads and sandwiches, is the winner of The Great Sweetwater Chicken Cook Off. The French Cut Chicken Breast is parmigiano-reggiano, garlic and sage stuffed, and served with garlic mashed potatoes, grilled asparagus, a truffle balsamic reduction, and truffle oil, Easy to see why it was voted as number one by a team of eight chefs among the great chicken dishes in the competition.
2. Grilled Shrimp & Polenta
If you are looking for lunch or dinner in Oak Brook, Old Town Pour House has some great specials each week. A stand out, available this week (May 5th – May 11th) only, is the Grilled Shrimp & Polenta, served with Frisee Salad, Salsa Verde, Corn Salsa, and a Red Chili Oil.
3. Deviled Eggs
Michigan Avenue’s Howells & Hood is offering a stellar Mother’s Day Brunch in Chicago. Save room after the omelet station and charcuterie, and go easy on the smoked brisket, waffles and lobster benedict(!), because an extra treat for this Sunday is their Deviled eggs!
4. Bloody Marys
The sun, and patio season, are finally here! That means a lazy, boozy afternoon sitting and watching the world go by. Those in the neighborhood consider The Boundary as one of the best brunch places in Wicker Park, with their full ‘build your own’ Bloody Mary bar… toppings, spices and fun additions galore.
5. Catch Of The Week
Sweeten your regular work week by heading to the riverside seating at South Branch; one of the few restaurants on the Chicago river, and with an incredible patio to boot. Their menu always includes a Chef’s Catch of the Week, including healthy and tasty inclusions such as Honey-Miso Glazed Salmon, Grilled Ruby Red Trout, Citrus Grilled Bluefish, and the pictured Pan Seared Snapper.
