Meet Megan Ortiz:
Where are you from?
Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas
What do you enjoy about your job?
Being a non-native Chicagoan myself, I enjoy meeting individuals from all over the country who come in to dine with us!
What do you do when you are not at work?
I am currently in school pursuing my doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology so when I’m not at work I am either studying or in class. My goal is to become a Clinical Neuropsychologist providing assessments and diagnosis for children with suspected intellectual disabilities. When I’m not at work or at school, you can find me at the gym or the beach!
What do you enjoy about working with the team/company?
I truly enjoy coming to work and being in an environment that is fun and welcoming! Our managers Sean, Rafa, and Kat do an amazing job at making sure we are set up for success and are always so supportive.
Current favorite drink?
Lime Topo Chico
What is something that people probably don’t know about you?
I used to be a competitive cheerleader and competed in the World Championships twice.
Favorite TV/Movie Quote?
Did we just become best friends? YEP.
What’s your favorite item on the Sweetwater menu?
The hangover bowl on the brunch menu is *chef’s kiss*
Biggest party foul?
Staying out late, any time after 2 AM is criminal.
If you could only have one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
A charcuterie board. I am a BIG fan of meats and cheeses, maybe throw some fruit in for a little razzle-dazzle.

What has been your most memorable experience at Bottleneck Management so far?
St. Patrick’s Day is always a memorable shift, especially in Chicago! The energy is high and everyone is in the mood to celebrate!

You do not want to hear me sing. Genuinely.
If you had a superpower, what would it be?
Teleportation, FOR SURE.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
If you love what you do, you won’t work a day in your life.
What’s your favorite thing about your city?
Summertime in Chicago is the BEST! Being from Texas, I appreciate being outdoors in the heat without feeling like I’m about to be incinerated 🙂

Being able to interact with people from all walks of life and of course my amazing colleagues

Travel, shop and work on my brand

I went to school for law.

Having the opportunity to connect and learn about different cultures since we have such a diverse team.

Focus on impact. Aim to create value in everything you do. Whether through innovation, teamwork, or leadership, making a meaningful impact helps you stand out and feel fulfilled in your work.
