Eater Chicago: Howells and Hood Coming to Tribune Tower
Scott Walton's new project has a name. The chef who opened Markethouse four years ago and left in December, is about to head the kitchen at Howells & Hood in the Tribune Tower. Howells & Hood is a new concept by Bottleneck Management, owners of bar and grills in the Loop and elsewhere like Old Town Pour House, South Branch, and The Boundary.
This project will be more upscale than Bottleneck's other projects, according to Crain's. Executive Chef Walton will employ global flavors and a touch of Southern influence. He's also bringing his house-made sausages along. It'll be large, as one might expect, seating 400 total plus three separate bars.
The concept is named after John Howells and Raymond Hood, designers of the Tribune Tower. A similar decor will mark Howells and Hood, including the same tiling and similar famous quotations on the walls. It'll be open before the Chicago River is dyed green in March. Read More>>
