De’Ann joined Bottleneck in 2015 as the General Manager of South Branch, and that same year won the General Manager of the Year award. As the company grew, De’ann was recognized as a strong leader and was promoted to Director of Operations, overseeing downtown Chicago and the East Coast. Throughout her tenure in that role she oversaw seven out of our 16 locations, including Bottleneck’s first ever large scale event space, Wintergarden in Pittsburgh, PA. In her current role as Food and Beverage Director, she works hand-in-hand with the culinary team to spearhead food and beverage innovation and menu rollouts.
De’Ann discovered her passion for the hospitality industry in high school. She began with learning all aspects of the industry and went to culinary school, graduating with a degree in Culinary Arts, then went on to continue her education with a degree in Hospitality and Hotel Management. Her career began at the Sheraton Grand Hotel, working in banquets as a line cook, before moving over to DoubleTree by Hilton in downtown Chicago as the Assistant Food & Beverage Manager of Operations. There she built the events department, oversaw training for all F&B aspects of the hotel and exponentially grew the marketing and revenue. From there she became the Executive Chef for the same hotel, curating the menu for the restaurant, room service, banquets and overseeing kitchen operations.
Outside of Work
De’Ann is a native of Chicago. She enjoys food festivals, exploring new restaurants, glasses of prosecco during the summer and adventuring in the Midwest during the winter. De’Ann is an avid traveler; she’s proud to say that she’s been from New York to Hawai’i, along with most of the Caribbean and Central America.
