Teamwork in the Workplace

teamwork in the workplace 2

Many of us at Bottleneck grew up playing sports and have had the value of teamwork instilled in us from an early age. You too may have learned the importance of teamwork from sports, or maybe you are in a band, or part of a theatre group, or maybe it’s been your experience within a work environment that has demonstrated to you how important it is to have everyone swimming in the same direction towards a common goal.

Teamwork in the workplace is a cornerstone of Bottleneck, and a principle that we value deeply and do our best to continually foster.

Legendary coach Vince Lombardi is credited with saying, “The achievements of an organization are the results of the combined effort of each individual.” This seems elementary and though it’s a simple idea, it’s one that is sometimes taken for granted and overlooked.

I think it is something that we positively reinforce in our workplaces, and can perfectly sum up the heart of Bottleneck: imagine how much easier a server’s job becomes when one of our smiling hosts engages a guest and welcomes them with genuine care. Or imagine how hard it would be for a chef to prepare a meal, deliver the meal to the table, and then clear and wash each plate and pan? Impossible, right? When everyone is working together to deliver a superior experience, your individual job becomes more achievable, and in the process, more fun.

It feels great when we exceed our guest’s expectations. When we’re all working together we have an excellent chance of achieving that goal, and in turn, making someone’s day better.

At Bottleneck we love adding to our team and making it stronger. We do everything possible to grow that talent organically but sometimes you have to acquire the best free agents on the market. The last six months have seen us add many new people to our teams, as well as having existing talented members switching locations within the Bottleneck portfolio. We aim to welcome you to our family and support you in your new roles, as we all grow throughout the rest of the year and beyond.
